Kolbenschmidt Pistons USA, LLC

Kolbenschmidt's Marinette facility produces pistons for passenger cars as well as light- and medium-duty commercial vehicle engines. Likewise included in the product range are pistons for marine, industrial and leisure applications (motorboats, professional tree saws, motorbikes). Kolbenschmidt will be celebrating their 70th year anniversary this year and has been an industry leader in responding to environmental impacts throughout the automotive industry.

Environmental activities

Kolbenschmidt has been ISO 14001 certified since 2002. In 2006, Kolbenschmidt was accepted as member into the EPA's National Performance Track, a program which recognized companies who consistently exceeded environmental regulation requirements.

Since their last ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) recertification in 2013, Kolbenschmidt's environmental improvements have included: coolant life maximization, installation of a compressor sequencers, air leak prevention and correction, multi-stream recycling initiatives, wastewater reductions, maximizing and reducing use of hazardous materials, as well as building a strong employee awareness of environmental issues concerning.
