Details 

A subcommittee of the Sporting Heritage Council will meet on Sept. 28, 2021. The purpose and agenda for the meeting is to develop a draft vision statement for the Sporting Heritage Council. No formal action will be taken. 

The sporting heritage council was created to study, provide advice and make recommendations to the governor, the Natural Resources Board and the legislature about issues relating to hunting, trapping, fishing and other types of outdoor recreation activities.

Virtual Lake Michigan Whitefish Meeting

Details 

DNR fisheries managers continue to develop new regulations for lake whitefish for the commercial industry and would like stakeholder participation on the permanent commercial whitefish rules package. This will be the seventh public meeting held since August 2020 to get feedback on Lake Michigan whitefish. The main purpose of the meeting will be to go over the information obtained from onboard monitoring activities in Green Bay.

Members of the public can access the meeting beginning at 5:45 p.m.

DNR fisheries staff will share information using a PowerPoint presentation during this meeting, and recommends the public attend using a computer via the Zoom link. Although the call-in number will allow attendees to listen to the discussion, they will be unable to view the presentation.

Governor’s Off-Road Vehicle Advisory Council Meeting

The Off-Road Vehicle Council provides advice and makes recommendations to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Department of Transportation, the Governor and the legislature on all matters relating to all-terrain vehicle trails and all-terrain vehicle routes, including matters relating to activities conducted on all-terrain vehicle trails and all-terrain vehicle routes by all-terrain vehicle users and utility terrain vehicle users, and makes recommendations to the DNR with regard to requests for funding. 

The Off-Road Vehicle Council will meet to make funding recommendations to the department. In particular, the Council will review updated information on projects discussed at the previous meeting. The public will be invited to join the meeting via Zoom or in person. The Zoom meeting link, agenda, and other meeting materials are available on the ORV Council webpage.

​​​​​This is a public information hearing regarding the proposed reissuance of the Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) permit for Glen Flora.

The village of Glen Flora is located at the intersection of Prentice and Third Street, Glen Flora, Wisconsin with a discharge to an effluent ditch to Deer Tail Creek within the Deer Tail Creek Watershed in the Upper Chippewa River Basin in Rusk County. Village of Glen Flora wastewater treatment facility serves a population of approximately 94 people with no industrial contributors. The proposed permit reissuance includes a Phosphorus variance.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will hold the third of four scheduled Wolf Management Plan Committee meetings on Thursday, Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The meeting will be held virtually and the public is invited to attend and observe the proceedings. No pre-registration required.
