Details 

Agenda topics for the council include DNR and legislative updates, non-landfill solid waste and electronics recycling rule revision updates, Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling grant update, current economics of plastics recycling from the Association of Plastic Recyclers, overview of Sibelco's glass recycling operations and more. Following the business meeting, a tour of Sibelco will be provided. Tour participants must wear long pants, work boots/safety shoes (steel-toe not required), safety glasses, high-vis vest and cut-resistant gloves. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own PPE if available; some PPE will also be available on-site. Completion of a visitor access agreement will be required.

  • 2:15-2:45 p.m.: FWP Supervisor Focus Group Results - Shared understanding. FWP supervisors were surveyed to identify barriers to supervisor effectiveness and potential supervisor training topics. Focus groups were then held to dive deeper into survey comments. The survey and focus group information is now being used to develop a supervisor training series and address potential cultural issues.

The public has the opportunity to testify at the hearing. Registration will take place at the hearing by completing a Hearing Appearance Form. Pre-registration is also available and is strongly encouraged if you plan to provide spoken comments during the hearing. Comments on the emergency rule must be received on or before June 10, 2026. The Snowmobile Recreation Council carries out studies and makes recommendations to the Legislature, Governor, Department of Natural Resources and Department of Transportation on all matters related to the snowmobiling program at the DNR or otherwise affecting snowmobiles and snowmobiling in Wisconsin, and makes recommendations to the DNR with regard to funding grant applications. 

The Infrastructure Committee of Snowmobile Recreation Council will meet to discuss topics pertaining to the program, and make recommendations to the DNR.
