Picnic Areas and Shelters
Kettle Moraine State Forest – Lapham Peak Unit
There are three picnic areas in the forest at Evergreen Grove, Homestead Hollow and the observation tower. Two areas have shelters that can be reserved. For shelter reservations, please remember that wheeled vehicles and trailers are not allowed on the grass. Temporary parking is allowed on walkways for loading/unloading food and supplies.

Lapham Lodge
The Lapham Lodge, located adjacent to the Evergreen Parking Area, is an award-winning building designed and built by the Friends of Lapham Peak. It is reservable for events and gatherings from April 1 through October 31. During winter it is a warming house for cross-country skiers. The lodge has a main room with a capacity of 160 and a multi-purpose room with a capacity of 32. The main lodge has 10 tables and over 80 chairs, bathrooms, dedicated changing rooms with public lockers, a gas fireplace, indoor/outdoor A/V capabilities and drinking fountains. The multipurpose room features 6 tables, 24 chairs, a kitchenette and an A/V meeting space. Reservations can be made through the Wisconsin State Park reservation system. Evergreen Open-air Shelter
The Evergreen open-air shelter has six picnic tables. A restroom is nearby in the Evergreen Lodge.
Mike Fort Shelter
The Mike Fort shelter has eight picnic tables. A restroom is near the parking lot.
Trecker Lodge
Trecker Lodge is in the Homestead Hollow area. There is a heated restroom building at the parking lot. A lighted pathway leads down to the Lodge. There is electric heating, a water fountain and a fireplace. The building has a capacity of 100, with nine plastic round tables and 75 chairs.
