Community Redevelopment Projects and DNR Grant Funding Opportunities

This Sustainable Strategies Webinar will provide an overview of the following WDNR grant programs:

Learn more about grant eligibility and application instructions, as well as examples on how local governments can leverage their resources with these grants. Attendees will also be joined by representatives from the Cities of Janesville and Eau Claire.

  • Owning an aging dam in need of significant repair, Janesville faced the decision to either repair or remove the dam. This presentation will discuss how it was decided to remove the dam, the associated river restoration opportunities, the city's public engagement process, and the utilization of WDNR Municipal Dam, Municipal Flood Control, and Stewardship grant funding.
  • We will also learn more about the City of Eau Claire's downtown redevelopment efforts. From Brownfield to Greenfield - attendees will see how Eau Claire used WDNR grant dollars to help reclaim its downtown!
