Potawatomi State Park on the shore of Sturgeon Bay in southern Door County, has 1,200 acres of gently rolling upland terrain bordered by steep slopes and rugged limestone cliffs. The park is named in honor of the tribe that inhabited Green Bay’s shores and islands when Europeans first settled the area. The tribe called themselves Bo-De-Wad-Me which means "keeper of the fire." Eventually the spelling and pronunciation were changed to Potawatomi.

Join our naturalist at the ski hill overlook to hike a section of the Ice Age Trail.

Pop into the nature center and get an up-close view of caterpillars, butterflies, moths, bees and other cool creepy-crawlies.

Meet at the nature center and join our naturalist on a ½ mile walk and ecological scavenger hunt through the ancient shorelines trail.

Stop in at the nature center to make animal masks, do word searches, color and complete other animal themed art projects.

Pop into the nature center between 3 and 5 p.m. and learn about the different furbearers of Wisconsin. Learn fun facts about animals and come and see some real pelts!

Meet at the nature center at 1 p.m. and join our naturalist on a ½ mile walk and ecological scavenger hunt through the Ancient Shorelines Trail.

Join us for a community campfire from 7 – 8 p.m. at the amphitheater. Be prepared for a night filled with stories, music and time to get to know your fellow campers.

Join the Friends of Potawatomi State Park in prepping the park for spring! Volunteers are needed to help with seasonal clean-up of playgrounds, campgrounds, picnic areas, and trails.
