Wisconsin Invasive Species Council Fall Quarterly Meeting

The Wisconsin Invasive Species Council will hold their fall quarterly meeting. They will hear final recommendations on phragmites (Phragmites australis non-native ecotype) and Chameleon Plant (Houttuynia cordata) from the Aquatic Species Assessment Group. They will determine the next steps for presenting Council recommendations to the DNR. They'll hear an update on Organisms in Trade efforts by the DNR and updates from Council members.

This is a joint public hearing on emergency rule WM-15-22(E) and permanent rule WM-16-22. Both rules revise ch. NR 10 and are related to establishing the 2023-2024 migratory bird season framework and regulations.
The public has the opportunity to testify at the hearing. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged if you plan to provide spoken comments during the hearing. To pre-register, please save and complete the fillable appearance slip and submit it to scottr.karel@wisconsin.gov. You may also submit written comments on the rule to DNRAdministrativeRulesComments@wisconsin.gov by 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2023. Written comments will have the same weight and effect as spoken testimony presented at the hearing.
