DNR PFAS Technical Group Meeting

This meeting of the PFAS Technical Group will include a presentation from Minnesota regarding their closed landfill study and ongoing work with PFAS and landfills. The EPA will also join to discuss their recently released draft 1633 laboratory method. The PFAS Technical Group is a working group designed as a forum to present and discuss information related to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in Wisconsin, with an emphasis on presentations from entities outside of DNR. This group does not have an appointed membership; any interested party may attend.
The public is invited to participate and may ask questions or provide comments at this meeting. Questions may also be submitted in advance to DNRPFASInquiries@wisconsin.gov. Webinar 6: NE Lakeshore TMDL Assimilative Capacity Analysis and Draft Allocations

Please join the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for a webinar on the NE Lakeshore Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) project.
Attendees will receive an overview of the results of the analysis on pollutant loadings, loading capacity and draft allocations for the NE Lakeshore TMDL.
The webinar will also focus on methods employed, results of inland lake modeling and how to interpret the resulting draft allocations for both point and nonpoint sources and the potential reductions needed to attain them.

Governor’s Off-Road Vehicle Advisory Council Meeting

The Off-Road Vehicle Council provides advice and makes recommendations to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Transportation, the governor and the legislature on all matters relating to all-terrain vehicle trails and all-terrain vehicle routes.
This includes matters relating to activities conducted on all-terrain vehicle trails and all-terrain vehicle routes by all-terrain vehicle users and utility terrain vehicle users, and makes recommendations to the department of natural resources with regard to requests for funding.
The Off-Road Vehicle Council will meet to review and discuss the DNR’s ATV and UTV Trail Guidelines, which is currently listed for public comment. PUBLIC MEETING ON THE CWD RESPONSE PLAN REVIEW

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has formed a committee made up of stakeholder organizations, tribal partners and other governmental organizations to conduct the second of three five-year reviews of the state’s 15-year chronic wasting disease (CWD) response plan.
Over the course of upcoming meetings, the committee will develop and provide input on the plan’s implementation and actions to consider as it completes this second five-year review. A panel of technical experts will attend meetings to support the committee’s work. All meetings will be open to the public, and recordings will be posted to the DNR website. This year’s agenda features a number of Wisconsin MRF representatives, as well as guest speakers from The Recycling Partnership who will discuss the federal infrastructure bill and other federal legislation, MRF granting initiatives, and other updates. This is a public hearing on a permanent rule, Board Order WY-23-19, to revise chapters NR 102, 105, 106 and 219, relating to adding narrative surface water criteria with numeric thresholds for poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) including perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) for the purpose of protecting public health as well as revisions to the procedures in the Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) permitting program to implement the new water quality criteria.
