Invasive Species Action Month (ISAM)

June is Invasive Species Action Month in Wisconsin. ISAM is an initiative developed by the Wisconsin Invasive Species Council. Beginning in 2005, the Council has requested the Governor to proclaim June as ISAM and has hosted the annual Invasive Species Action Awards to award groups and individuals around the state that take action on invasives. Learn more about the Council and their efforts on their webpage.

Invasive Species Awareness Weekend (ISAW)

ISAW aims to raise awareness of the many invasive species that threaten our natural habitats and encourage folks to learn and take action. In 2024, the Bureau of Parks and Recreation Management first piloted this initiative, resulting in 20 education and invasive control events across 10 counties. In 2025, increased collaboration and inclusion of partner groups allowed the program to expand into 19 counties with a total of 30 events!

Join us this coming June 20 and 21 for the third annual ISAW! View the list of 2026 ISAW events. This list will be updated periodically as event hosts continue to register.
