Annual Reporting

Members of the Green Tier Charter for Climate Action are committed to being transparent and sharing their progress with the DNR and the public.

All members of the Green Tier Charter for Climate Action are highly encouraged to submit an annual report that details their efforts to improve climate outcomes in Wisconsin.

Specific reporting requirements vary based on membership type.

• Participants commit to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and participating in a collaboration project that is designed to implement mitigation, adaptation, or resiliency strategies. Participants are required to submit an annual report detailing their progress.
• Partners commit to providing assistance to participants and are encouraged to work on resiliency projects. Partners should submit an annual report that covers their activities as a charter member.
• Collaborators are empowered to work on resiliency projects and engage with other aspects of the charter. Collaborators are encouraged to share their stories, but they are not required to submit an annual report.

If a member also participates in Tier 1, Tier 2, or another Charter, they can submit one combined report that contains all the reporting elements relevant to their Green Tier participation.

Report Instructions

Annual reports are submitted to the DNR by April 15th each year.

The information contained in each report depends on commitments made by the individual member and the types of projects that they are working on. In general, each report includes an executive summary, a narrative of charter activities, progress on current goals, and a list of future goals.

Participant reports include a narrative and data supporting their efforts to achieve their stated greenhouse gas reduction goals. Participant reports also describe how their collaboration project is improving local climate resilience by including specific information detailed in the respective collaboration project outline.

Charter Summary Reports

The reports submitted by each participant are reviewed by the DNR and consolidated into an annual summary that describes the collective impact of the charter.

The summary report is intended to highlight the individual efforts of each participant and show the progress made by working together.
