The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has formed a committee made up of stakeholder organizations, tribal partners and other governmental organizations to conduct the second of three five-year reviews of the state’s 15-year chronic wasting disease (CWD) response plan. Over the course of upcoming meetings, the committee will develop and provide input on the plan’s implementation and actions to consider as it completes this second five-year review.
A panel of technical experts will attend meetings to support the committee’s work. All meetings will be open to the public, and recordings will be posted to the DNR website.

This is the second public hearing on permanent rule CR 19-094 (Board Order WY-23-13) to revise chs. NR 102 and 217 relating to processes for waterbody assessments and impaired waters listing, biological thresholds for water quality standards, and biological confirmation of phosphorus impairments.
The public has the opportunity to testify at the hearing. Registration will take place while logging into the virtual hearing or by completing a Hearing Appearance form. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged if you plan to provide spoken comments during the hearing. To pre-register, either use the Zoom link prior to the day of the hearing or download and complete the fillable hearing appearance form and send it to Kristi.Minahan@wisconsin.gov.

State Trails Council Quarterly Meeting

The State Trails Council (STC) provides advice and consultation to the Department of Natural Resources on the planning, acquisition, development and management of trails in Wisconsin. The council represents trail users in Wisconsin, which includes more than half of the state's residents. The council is also responsible for providing counsel in administering Federal Recreational Trails Program funds.
A draft agenda will be posted to the STC website prior to the meeting. The new Wisconsin State Parks and Recreation Management Bureau Director will be introduced near the beginning of the meeting. A portion of the agenda near the end of the meeting will allow for public comments.

Governor’s Off-Highway Motorcycle Advisory Council Meeting

The Off-Highway Motorcycle Council provides advice and makes recommendations to the department of natural resources, the department of transportation, the governor and the legislature on all matters relating to off-highway motorcycle trails, including matters relating to activities conducted on off-highway motorcycle trails and by off-highway motorcycle users, and makes recommendations to the department of natural resources with regard to requests for funding.
The Off-Highway Motorcycle Council will meet to make funding recommendations to the department. In particular, the Council will review updated information on projects discussed at the previous meeting. The public will be invited to join the meeting via Zoom or in person. The Zoom meeting link, agenda, and other meeting materials are available on the OHM Council webpage.
