Trails
The park trail system has transitioned to winter use. Most winter trails are designated for cross-country skiing only when the trails are snow-covered. The Black Trail and Winter Trail are open for hiking and snowshoeing.
Pets are not permitted on cross-country ski trails but are allowed on the hiking and snowshoeing trails in the park. Pet owners are responsible for following all pet rules.
Access to Old Baldy is closed for the season due to winter trail use designation and icy conditions.
Seasonal Water
The drinking fountains are shut down for the season and will reopen in spring 2021.
Beach and Shoreline
Water levels remain high on Lake Michigan and waves regularly splash onshore creating icy conditions. When walking along the shoreline, please remain on designated hiking trails and exercise caution.
All beach accesses are closed for the season due to severe erosion and icy conditions.
Shelter
The shelter building is closed for the season. The shelter can be reserved online from April 1 through October 31. For all other dates or questions about the shelter, please contact the Nature Center.
