Beach and Shoreline

The first beach access point at Whitefish Dunes State Park is no longer ADA accessible due to shoreline erosion, however, the access point is now open with a rugged gravel trail leading to the shore. The second and third beach access points are open with stairs leading to the shore. A beach wheelchair is available for people with disabilities.

Please do not climb on the sand dunes and stay on the park's designated trails and stairs to protect the rare plant and animal species that call Whitefish Dunes home.

Pets are not allowed on the section of beach from the nature center to the Third Beach access from April 1 to Nov. 1. The pet beach access is about a 0.75-mile walk from the parking lot. To reach this area, walk your pet from the parking area down the Red Trail and then onto the beach.

For current beach conditions, visit the Wisconsin Beach Health website.

Kayak Tours

Door County Adventure Center offers daily guided kayak tours at the property during the summer season (approximately May through September). Call 920-746-9539 or visit the Door County Adventure Center website [exit DNR] more information or to make a reservation.
