Recreation
Natural Bridge State Park
Natural Bridge State Park is a day-use park, offering nearly 4 miles of wooded, hiking trails. The property protects a natural sandstone arch and rock shelter. Climbing on the arch itself or going into the shelter is prohibited to protect the natural area. Picnic tables, water and restrooms are not available at the park.
Hiking
The park's trails all begin at the parking lot on County Highway C. Natural Bridge itself is located along the Indian Moccasin Trail, a 1-mile loop trail north of the highway. The Whitetail Trail crosses south of the highway and back again, traveling through woodlands and prairie.
The native land cover of the property is mainly oak woods, with some open fields and patches of native prairie. Several wildflowers bloom throughout the growing season and bird watchers may see turkey vultures, pileated woodpeckers, songbirds and bald eagles, among other species.
Hunting and trapping
Hunting and trapping are allowed in the open areas of the park during the Wisconsin state parks hunting and trapping time frame. Trapping is not permitted in closed areas, as noted on the park hunting map or within 100 yards of any designated use area, including trails. Certain trap types are restricted on state park properties. For more information, please see:
Winter activities
Cross-country skiing is allowed in the park, but there are no trails groomed for skiing. Winter hiking and snowshoeing are allowed anywhere in the park.
