2026 Park Construction Notice
Beginning in late summer 2026, several construction projects will be taking place at Interstate Park that will affect availability of the beach, the Meadow Valley shelter and other park facilities.
Hilltop Restrooms: The Week of Aug. 17, crews will be replacing the Hilltop restroom building roof. The restrooms will be closed during replacement which will take one to two days.
Beach Restrooms and Lift Station: On Aug. 27 and 28, the beach area restrooms will be closed for electrical work related to the lift station replacement. The restroom buildings are anticipated to be open for the weekend, after electrical work is complete. The beach will remain open during this work. Vault toilets across from the playground will be available. There will be no access to changing stalls.
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, all flush restrooms and water systems in the beach area (amphitheater, hilltop and at the beach house) will close down for the season when the beach lift station replacement begins. The vault toilets across from the playground will be open during construction. Beach access will be limited near the construction site and no changing facilities will be available. The water systems and restrooms in the campgrounds will not be affected by this construction.
Road Construction: Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, road resurfacing will take place from the Pothole Trail parking lot to the River Bottoms Picnic Area. The Beach parking lot will also be regraded and resurfaced. Visitors can expect delays in accessing roadways under construction and the beach parking area will be closed to public use (while work is being completed in the parking lot). Work is expected to be completed in early November 2026.
Sewer Replacement: The week of Sept. 14, replacement of a sewer line will result in a road closure. The lower part of the park will be inaccessible during construction.
Meadow Valley Shelter: The Meadow Valley shelter will be closed to use beginning in September 2026. Construction crews will be making structural repairs and replacing the roof. The shelter will reopen once all work has been completed in late fall/early winter.
Construction dates are subject to change. Updates to the Interstate Park construction project will be posted to this page. (Updated 8/17/26)
