Interstate Park
2026 Park Construction Notice
Several construction projects will be taking place at Interstate Park through fall 2026 that will affect availability of the beach, River Bottoms Picnic Area, Meadow Valley shelter and other park facilities.
River Bottoms Picnic Area: The River Bottoms Picnic Area will be closed for road paving operations from Oct.12 through Oct. 30, 2026. Work will be conducted on weekdays only, Monday-Friday, ending at 4 p.m. on Fridays. The River Bottoms Picnic Area will be open on weekends (Friday, Oct. 16 after 4 p.m., Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 17-18 and Friday, Oct. 23 after 4 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 24-25). Visitors can expect delays in accessing roadways under construction.
Meadow Valley Shelter: The Meadow Valley shelter will be closed to use beginning in September 2026. Construction crews will be making structural repairs and replacing the roof. The shelter will reopen once all work has been completed in late fall/early winter.
