Sturgeon Spearing License Deadline Oct. 31
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) would like to remind interested spearers that they have until Oct. 31, 2020 to purchase a license for the 2021 Lake Winnebago sturgeon spearing season.
DNR Launches Waste Characterization Study At Wisconsin Landfills
This past September, SCS Engineers began collecting and sorting samples of municipal solid waste at landfills across the state as part of a study aimed at better understanding what Wisconsinites are throwing in the trash. Results of the study will provide a powerful planning tool for waste reduction and minimization efforts across the state, and when compared to prior studies conducted in 2003 and 2009, will help officials identify trends in waste and recycling.
C.W. Caywood Shooting Range To Temporarily Reopen On A Limited Basis
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), in cooperation with the local Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) have partnered through volunteer efforts to reopen the C.W. Caywood Memorial Shooting Range on a limited basis before the 9-day gun deer season.

Wisconsin Natural Resources Board Virtual Meeting Oct. 28
Due to public health advisories, the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board (NRB) will meet virtually for the October board meeting to consider donations, the adoption of Emergency Board Order WA-06-20(E) which was postponed from the Aug. 12, 2020 meeting, preliminary public hearing and comment period authorization, scope statements and land items.
