NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board will tour and/or receive presentations at the following locations (NOTE: The public must preregister with Board Liaison to attend scheduled tours. Registration information is located on the last page of the agenda. Exact tour schedule is subject to change).
Optional Morning Tours: Participating Board Members will arrive at approximately 9:15 a.m. at the Danny and Nancy Bourassa Farmstead, 70615 County Highway A, just north of Iron River; topic: Lake Superior Landscape Restoration Project. At approximately 10:45 a.m., participating Board Members will arrive at Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest's Moquah Barrens Management Area, Forest Road 423, Ashland; topic: Sharptail Grouse. REMOVED
Afternoon Tours: At approximately 12:15 12:30 p.m., the full Board will receive a presentation at the Best Western - Hotel Chequamegon, 101 Lake Shore Drive West, Ashland; topics: welcome to Ashland, flooding incident response and recovery, public/private partnerships: natural resources restoration, and an overview of their afternoon water tour. At approximately 2:00 p.m. Board Members will arrive at Ashland Marina, North Ellis Avenue, Ashland and will participate in an afternoon water tour which will end at approximately 3:30 4:00 p.m. At approximately 4:15 4:45 p.m., the full Board will receive a presentation at the Best Western - Hotel Chequamegon, 101 Lake Shore Drive West, Ashland; topic: Ashland Waterfront Redevelopment. Approximate end of tours: 5:00 5:30 p.m. MODIFIED
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board will convene at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the AmericInn, 3009 Lakeshore Drive E, Ashland, Wisconsin. The Board will act on items 1-2 and 5-6 as listed on the Agenda.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at approximately 11:15 a.m., the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board will meet in closed session at the AmericInn, 3009 Lakeshore Drive E, Ashland, Wisconsin under the authority of s.19.85(1)(g) Wisconsin Statutes for the purpose of discussing litigation matters. ADDED
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that matters concerning natural resource issues or the Department's program responsibilities or operations specified in the Wisconsin Statutes, which arise after publication of this agenda may be added to the agenda and publicly noticed no less than two hours before the scheduled board meeting, if the Board Chair determines that the matter is urgent.

The public is welcome to attend a Wisconsin Natural Resources Board (NRB) meeting. The NRB also provides opportunities for citizens to testify and to submit written comment about issues that come before the NRB. See complete information on public participation at Board meetings.
Board Meetings are now webcast live. To watch, go to this site and click Webcasts in the Related Links column on the right. Then click on this month's meeting.
After each meeting, the webcast will be permanently available on demand.
Remote testimony protocol: Because of potential strong public interest in agenda item 2.B.3 - Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Master Plan, remote testimony will be allowed at the State Natural Resources Building (GEF 2). Official meeting location of the Board will be at AmericInn, 3009 Lakeshore Drive E, Ashland, WI You must be preregistered to testify. Those that do not preregister will not have the opportunity to testify.
Approximate time that item 2.B.3. may be before the Board is 9:00 a.m. If you arrive late at either location, you may lose your opportunity to testify. Each speaker will have three minutes to give their testimony.
The following is from the Board's meeting guidelines: Only one speaker per organization. Testimony that threatens, intimidates, or includes disparaging comments about Board Members, department staff, and other members of the public will not be allowed. Those that do so may be removed from the meeting or remote location. Written comment is always welcome. ADDED
