Willow River State Park

Weather forecast [exit DNR]

The staircase to the Willow Falls overlook at Willow River State Park is temporarily closed until further notice due to maintenance of the staircase stringer.

Little Falls Lake

Little Falls Lake is back to full level, however, it will take a couple of years for stocked fish to grow. Trout fishing is open on the Willow River.

All trails are open for hiking. Trail conditions vary. Bikes are allowed on the paved roads and on the trail from the 300 campground to the dam. The stairway and overlooks at Willow Falls are now open.

The Friends of Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks have begun construction on a new mountain bike trail system. Construction will take several years to complete. The first trail segment may open for use this fall. Please stay off the bike trails during construction.

Other trail work will be taking place for the summer. Contact the park office if you would like to volunteer.

Camping is open in all campgrounds. Camping reservations are required and can be made for the same day of your arrival or up to 11 months in advance of your planned date of occupancy. Campers must make a reservation before setting up on any site. Reserve a campsite online or by calling 1-888-947-2757.

Hunting in the park is closed for the season and will resume on Nov. 15, 2021.
