The DNR will be updating the Wisconsin State Park System's Strategic Plan in 2026. The Wisconsin State Park System recently celebrated its 125th anniversary and contains approximately 125 unique properties. These properties offer a wide variety of opportunities for outdoor recreation and the enjoyment of Wisconsin’s vast natural resources.

The updated plan will summarize the system’s existing conditions, identify issues and opportunities, and develop a management strategy and direction for the next 10-years. See the most recent plan: Wisconsin State Park System 2015-2020 Strategic Directions.

Public input opportunities

The public is encouraged to provide feedback and input that will assist in the development of the updated strategic plan by completing an online public opinion survey. The DNR will accept public comments via the survey until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026.
