2024-2025 Timber Harvest

A timber harvest will be taking place at the Pike Lake Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest over winter (approximately mid-December 2024 through March 2025) between Kettle Moraine Rd. and Powder Hill Rd. Trails within the harvest area may be closed during this time. Dates for the harvest are weather dependent and signs will be posted at trail crossings when closures are in place. All trails in the timber harvest area (including the observation tower) will be closed to use during active harvest operations. All ski trails east of Powder Hill Rd., the multi-use trails west of Kettle Moraine Rd. and the snowmobile trail route will remain open. During the timber harvest, the Ice Age National Scenic Trail will be rerouted on the bike trail to make a continuous route through the property.
