Biking

Mirror Lake State Park

There are about nine miles of trails available for off-road bike enthusiasts that are open from May 1-Oct. 31 each year; weather and condition permitting. These trails are not open for biking, including fat-tire biking from Nov. 1-April 30 due to cross-country skiing and trail and turf maintenance. These trails include Hastings, Fern Dell, Turtleville and Wild Rice Trails and are all located on the south side of Fern Dell Road.

Trails open to biking have red trail marker posts and are posted for biking. Trail surfaces include sand, grass and woodchips and they are wide. There are no single-track off-road bike trails available. A state trail pass is not required to use these bike trails. Bicyclists must use caution and give hikers the right-of-way. There are no official paved road-bike trails in the park, although many people enjoy riding on the paved campground roads.

If a linear trail with a crushed limestone surface is what you are looking for, the trailhead for the 400 State Trail is a short 15-minute drive from Mirror Lake State Park in Reedsburg.
