Winter Recreation

Kohler-Andrae State Park

Cross-country skiing

Enjoy the park during winter by cross-country skiing. Cross-country skiing is available on a marked one-way trail. The two-mile ski trail has flat to gentle slopes and takes you through a variety of beautiful environments. The trail starts in the picnic area and travels through the wooded southern campground. It then hooks up to the Woodland Dunes Nature Trail and later loops through the picnic area back to the beginning. The trail is groomed regularly when snow conditions and weather permit it. Pets are not permitted on ski trails at any time. Ski/snowshoe trails and winter camping map [PDF].

All trails are one way. Please follow the signs and arrows on the ski trail for your safety and others. Ski within your ability and always leave enough space between you and other skiers.

Snowshoeing

There is a marked snowshoe trail at the park. A moderate 1-mile snowshoe trail begins at the amphitheater and winds south through the wooded campground area. It loops back through the picnic area before returning to the beginning. The snowshoe trail is not groomed. Sorry, pets are not allowed on this trail.

Additional snowshoeing is available at the 2.5-mile Black River Trail and throughout the park.

Snowshoeing is not allowed on the groomed ski trail.
