Governor Thompson State Park

Governor Thompson State Park has more than 16 miles of hiking trails. A variety of trails of different lengths take hikers past some fantastic rock formations.

Flowage trail

This 1.9-mile linear trail links Boat Landing 13 with Huber Lake and connects to many of the other park trails.

Forest View trail

This 3.5-mile trail loops through the center of the forest. The trail begins near Woods Lake.

Granite Path trail

This 2.1-mile trail loops through the center of the forest. The trail begins near Woods Lake.

Hills trail

This 1-mile trail links off the Flowage Trail in the western part of the park.

Otter trail

This 1-mile trail begins near the entrance station by Woods Lake.

Pine View trail

This 1-mile trail begins near Woods Lake.

South Bay trail

This 0.3-mile trail links the campground to Boat Landing 13 Road. Bikes are allowed on this connector trail.

Sunset trail

This 1.4-mile trail links off the Flowage Trail in the western part of the park near Huber Lake.

Thunder Mountain trail

This 2-mile linear trail in the center of the park connects the park road to several trails near Huber Lake.

Whippoorwill trail

This 1.7-mile trail begins near the entrance station on Paust Lane and Woods Lake.
