Governor Dodge State Park

2026 Park Construction Notice

Road, retaining wall and campground water system construction projects are taking place at Governor Dodge State Park through fall 2026. Construction will be primarily during daytime hours. During the construction time frame, some roads and trails may be closed, rerouted or reduced to single-lane traffic, and detours may be in place. During daytime hours, visitors will notice increased dust and noise from construction equipment.

Most areas in the park will remain open, however, some facilities may be temporarily closed for certain periods during the construction time frame.Campsites affected will include Twin Valley Campground, the Group Camp and the Equestrian Campground. Day use areas affected will include the Cox Hollow picnic area, Cox Hollow boat landing, the Enee Point shelter/trailhead and other parking areas. When closures are in place, please keep out of any areas posted as closed.

Twin Valley Campground  

Water systems (drinking fountains, flush toilets and showers buildings) in the 200 loop of the Twin Valley campground will be shut down beginning Sept. 24, 2026 for approximately three weeks. The sanitary dump station is still open and water will still be available in the 300 loop of the campground until shut down for the season due to weather.
