2026 Road Construction and Campground Closures

Throughout 2026, a large road construction project will be taking place at Buckhorn State Park. Most campsites, the accessible cabin, the beach parking lot and boat launch A are all now open. Landscape work will continue around parking lots.

Campsites: Impacted campsites and 2026 tentative closed dates include:

• Sites 1-3 (closed for the season)
• Sites 20-22 (closed Aug. 1 – Oct. 10)

Campers may utilize the “Notify Me” button on the reservation website to receive email alerts when these sites become available. The “Notify Me” button will appear after searching for your desired location (Buckhorn State Park) and your selected dates for camping.

Accessible Cabin: The accessible cabin is open through Oct. 15, 2026.

22nd Street: The park section of 22nd Street from 31st Street south to 33rd Street will be under construction between Aug. 1 and Oct. 10, 2026.

Construction dates are subject to change. Updates to the Buckhorn State Park construction project will be posted to this page (updated on Sept. 16, 2026).
