Lower Fox River PCB Cleanup Project

The Lower Fox River PCB cleanup effort began in 2004 and is one of the largest of its kind worldwide. After decades of scientific investigation and years of dredging river sediments, sediment removal, and capping activities, active remedial activities were completed in 2020. Monitoring of sediment caps, fish, and water is ongoing and has shown significant improvement following the remediation.
