Strawberry Creek Weir Facility

The following information is the latest Chinook salmon processing information for our facility on Strawberry Creek. We will post new information to this site every TUESDAY at 4 p.m. from October through early November. Depending on water conditions and number of fish in the weir, fish are usually processed on Mondays and Thursdays.

Strawberry Creek Weir Report for Oct. 18, 2021

The final Chinook salmon egg collection at Strawberry Creek for this season occurred on Monday Oct. 18, 2021. Five Chinook salmon processing days occurred overall this fall at Strawberry Creek on October 4, 7, 11, 14, and 18. Numbers of Chinook salmon processed for data each day respectively were 630, 1,054,  678, 616 and 473 (total 3,451). Overall, 443 female Chinooks were spawned and over 2.3 million eggs collected. These Chinook eggs were transferred to the Wild Rose State Fish Hatchery, where they will be incubated, hatched and raised until next spring for stocking into several Lake Michigan tributaries.
