MyWisconsin ID

The Wisconsin Access Management System (WAMS) login system used to submit drinking water reports will be transitioning to a new Department of Administration system called MyWisconsin ID.

Any users who have a WAMS account will be required to create a MyWisconsin ID user ID and password to prepare for the transition.

What Do I Need to Do?

If you currently have a WAMS account, you must self-register for a MyWisconsin ID by following the steps on the DET MyWisconsin ID Self Registration webpage.

  • If you already created a MyWisconsin ID through another state agency (for example, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection), you do not need to create another.
  • A recorded video on how to create a MyWisconsin ID is available for anyone needing to create an account.

Linking WAMS Data To MyWisconsin ID

  • After WAMS officially transitions to MyWisconsin ID, users must transfer their previous WAMS data to their new MyWisconsin ID account by clicking "Transfer WAMS Data" and entering their old WAMS username and password.
  • Users without previous WAMS data can click "Continue As New User."

How Will I Know It's Time To Use MyWisconsin ID?

Most users will receive messaging about MyWisconsin ID in one of several ways: through GovDelivery emails, through an email from their drinking water field representatives, by visiting this webpage or by self-verifying through the DNR Switchboard.

If users have their WAMS account saved as a bookmark, they will see a redirect link like the one pictured below that will redirect them to the Switchboard page pictured above (image 2).

For DNR Staff

If you have a wisconsin.gov email address, you do NOT need to create a MyWisconsin ID. When WAMS transitions to MyWisconsin ID, people with a wisconsin.gov email will log in to the new Switchboard by simply entering their short username and password.
