Research

Science plays a vital role in the DNR’s decision making. Researchers apply diverse expertise to better understand Wisconsin’s environment, plants, animals, and the many factors that affect them. This “behind the scenes” work helps the DNR better organize, plan and forecast management actions to protect and sustain Wisconsin’s natural resources. An ongoing collaborative effort, this research supports the DNR’s mission and helps address the agency’s highest priorities while remaining responsive to and understanding of emerging issues.
