Wisconsin PFAS Action Council Releases PFAS Action Plan Progress Report

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced the Wisconsin PFAS Action Council (WisPAC) released its PFAS Action Plan Progress Report. The Progress Report outlines steps taken by state agencies to address PFAS contamination since December 2020, when the Wisconsin PFAS Action Plan was released.

Ride Across Wisconsin Aug. 20-21

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds trail users that certain sections of several state trails will be used as part of the Ride Across Wisconsin event held this weekend, Aug. 20 – 21. Trail users should be aware of the large increase in the number of bicyclists and spectators on the La Crosse River, Elroy-Sparta, 400, Glacial Drumlin and Hank Aaron state trails.

Incidental Take Notice For Waukesha County

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) proposes to issue an authorization for the incidental taking of a rare fish, which may result from the U.S. 18 over the Bark River – Structure Replacement project. Incidental take refers to the unintentional loss of individual endangered or threatened animals or plants that does not put the species' overall population at risk.

Groundwater Coordinating Council Releases Annual Report

The Wisconsin Groundwater Coordinating Council today shared key recommendations for protecting and preserving vital groundwater resources in its 2022 annual report to the Wisconsin State Legislature. The recommendations focus on setting new and revised health-based groundwater standards, evaluating and addressing drinking water contamination from nitrates and perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) chemicals.
