Lower Menominee River Area Of Concern Delisted

After 30 years of pollution cleanup and restoration efforts, the Lower Menominee River Area of Concern has been removed from an international list of the 43 most polluted places on the Great Lakes. This AOC is Wisconsin's first of five to be delisted.

C.W. Caywood Memorial Shooting Range Remains Closed After Safety Hazard

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has temporarily closed the C.W. Caywood Memorial shooting range in Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin, after rounds were observed leaving the shooting facility and creating significant safety concerns.

Daily Admission Passes Available Friday, Sept. 4

Daily trail and park admission passes will again be sold at all state park system properties beginning on Friday, September 4, 2020.

ATV/UTV Operators: Ride Responsibly Labor Day Weekend

The DNR is encouraging ATV and UTV operators to brush up on safe practices ahead of the Labor Day holiday. So far in 2020 there have been 23 fatal ATV and UTV incidents, compared to 14 in 2019.

Hook and Line Lake Sturgeon Season Opens Sept. 5

The inland hook and line season for lake sturgeon is set to open on Sept. 5 through Sept. 30. Anglers will have the opportunity to catch these prehistoric fish while on waterways throughout Wisconsin.
