DNR Magazine Shines Spotlight On Bumble Bees
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced that the latest issue of Wisconsin Natural Resources magazine is now available in print.
The summer issue shines a spotlight on the inner workings of the redbelted bumble bee, documenting the progress of a nest found in a Madison neighborhood woodpile and monitored as it ran through its lifespan. There’s also information on how everyone can pitch in to help these important pollinators.
Fish and wildlife are featured in this issue, including furbearer fun facts, identifying animal tracks and stories about some unusual fish and wildlife species found in Wisconsin. Urban forestry, outdoor safety, recycling updates and details on an important makeover at Milwaukee’s South Shore Beach also are covered.
State parks are popular places to visit at this time of year, and no one knows better where to go and what to see than the DNR’s park property managers. Hear from them and get their insights in the summer issue. Plus, read about a Baraboo couple who urge people to “be a tourist where you live” and enjoy all the state has to offer.
There’s plenty more in the latest issue. Sign up to receive the print issue delivered directly to you, just $8.97 a year for four quarterly issues. Call 1-800-678-9472 or check the website to subscribe, renew or give a gift subscription today.
