MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds fish enthusiasts of the fisheries management meeting set to occur online on Thursday, Feb. 19 to discuss the fisheries in the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage.
For the past century, the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage has gained notoriety for offering exceptional angling opportunities in a wild and scenic setting. The 13,500 acres of water, 195 islands, 200 miles of undeveloped shoreline and 16 flooded lake basins provide a breadth of habitats that underpins a diverse and productive fishery.
Join DNR staff at 6 p.m. for a presentation on the management of the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage's fishery, including status updates on major populations and their historic trends, along with a discussion of future challenges facing the "Crown Jewel of the North" and the fishery it supports.
