Havenwoods State Forest is Wisconsin’s only urban state forest, featuring 237 acres of grasslands, woods and wetlands in the city of Milwaukee. Hike, run, bike and watch wildlife on over six miles of trails. Explore one of the four ponds, stroll over the 120-foot bridge or find a bench to sit and relax outdoors.

    While there is no camping at Havenwoods, summer is a great time to learn how to camp! Learn some basics including how to stay warm, how to set up a tent and how to start a fire. Finish the program with a tasty, fire-roasted treat

    Discover and learn everything about frogs through games, crafts, stories and outdoor exploration by the pond! This program is intended for children aged 2-9 and their guardian(s).

    Ever wanted to see a turtle eat? Or see a snake up close? Come visit the animals as they eat their lunch. Each animal feeding will focus on one of the animal ambassadors that live in the Havenwoods Nature Center.
