Venison Canning Workshop

Have you ever considered canning your venison harvest? Join Jackie Carattini for a hands-on introduction into canning venison and wild game. The best thing about this course is that you get to take home what you have made! Come join us and learn how to can for yourself.

Participants will learn hot and cold pack methods for canning meat, as well as how to use of both a traditional pressure canner and a Presto electric canner. Materials will be provided. Participants will leave with a recipe book and samples. 

This event is offered through a partnership between with The National Deer Association, Sandwill Wildlife Area and UW-Extention. 

Interested participants with limited mobility are asked to contact the event organizer about accessibility options in advance of the event. 

The fee for this course will be $10 to cover the cost of jars.  

Class is limited to the first 15 participants.
