Monarch Tagging

-

Description

Come net and tag monarch butterflies with park naturalist Phyllis McKenzie as part of a national citizen science effort to track the movements of these beautiful butterflies on their migration path. Monarchs have not been seen in large numbers this summer, so we’ll see how migration is progressing. Bring sunscreen and a bottle of water. All ages are welcome.

We’ll meet at the Old Gate near the campground then hike to Friends Pond (about 0.3 miles) in search of monarch butterflies to tag.

To drive to Friends Pond: follow County Rd. V to County Rd. KK (Moenning Rd.), head south to Old Park Rd. and then east to the Friends Pond parking lot.
