Invasive Species Awareness Day

Celebrate Invasive Species Awareness Day at Wisconsin's state parks.

Join our park staff for a day of invasive species eradication and education!

8:30-11:30 a.m. - Join the Ranger and Ice Age Trail volunteers in the hands-on removal of buckthorn and honeysuckle. Participants are encouraged to bring plenty of water, insect repellant, sunscreen, and to wear long pants, closed toe shoes, and work gloves. Hand tools will be provided. No experience is necessary to participate.

Noon-2:30 p.m. - Drop-in to learn about all the different types of invasives, how to best manage your own property, tools for easiest removal, and plenty more!

12:30-1:30p.m. - Join the Naturalist on a guided hike highlighting how human intervention can not only help slow the spread of invasives but help make positive change that will ripple out to all the different levels of all native flora and fauna.

For all activities, meet at the south end of the beach parking lot.
