Prairie Hike On The Badger State Trail

-

Description

Join the Friends and the Prairie Enthusiasts for a hike to the prairie on the Badger State Trail, a small remnant of the original native prairie that was once common in southern Wisconsin.

Ralph Henry, Jerry Newman and Rebecca Gilman of the Prairie Enthusiasts will share their knowledge of this unique ecosystem and experience in maintaining this rare section of prairie.

We will walk around a 1.5-mile round trip to the small remnant of the original native prairie on a flat crushed limestone trail. Bring water to stay hydrated on the walk.

Meet just west of Goepfert Road on County Road FF on the Badger State Trail north of Monroe. There is an unpaved parking area in which visitors can park.
