Get to Know YOUR Horicon Marsh: Earth Day Celebration

-

Description

Celebrate Earth Day and bring your family to the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center to discover all the incredible wildlife that makes YOUR marsh such a special place.

Families can complete a free self-guided scavenger hunt with hands-on activities in and around the Education Center to be entered for a Flyway Gift Shop prize drawing.

Join us at 10 a.m. for a special book reading and signing by local author Jessica Streamer of her book "Lights Out." Based on the real-life Lights Out movement, this inspirational picture book shows how even the smallest actions, like flipping a switch, can make a big difference in helping migrating birds. Books are available for purchase.

New this year, our Horicon Marsh Wildlife Biologist shares an interactive presentation about what makes our marsh marvelous!

Examine animal artifacts, meet hard-to-find critters in person, and even look under the water as you learn about all kinds of Wisconsin wildlife. You will be able to learn about the water cycle on the short-loop trail, make a seed bomb, solve a nature mystery or two, and take a selfie with our lovable snapping turtle, Marshall.

We’ll also have Reduced Explorium admission rates of $2 per person all day, children four and under free. Join us at the marsh as we explore special creatures in a particular place.

This event is free, and no registration is required.

The Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center is located at N7725 Highway 28 in Horicon, WI.
