Learn to Hunt Turkey Series

Hosted by the Glacier Valley Gobblers NWTF (Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation), this Turkey Learn to Hunt Series is geared for beginning hunters with no previous experience. Instructors are safe, welcoming, and experienced at introducing new people of different backgrounds to hunting!

Registration is required. To register, go to Go Wild and log in or create an account if you don’t already have one. Click on the "Manage Safety Education" tab, click “Search for Class” and select "Learn to Hunt” as the course type and then “Dane” in the county drop-down tabs. Register with your Customer ID number.

  • - March 19 (Tue):  Intro class, Fitchburg Service Center 6 – 8 p.m.

  • March 23 (Sat):  Turkey scouting, UW-Madison Arboretum, 6:30 – 8:30 a.m.
    • Scouting Rain Date: March 30 6:15 – 8:15 a.m.

  • April 2 (Tue): Shooting Range and Turkey Processing,  Sauk Prairie Trap Club, 5 – 8 p.m..

    • Range Rain Date: April 5 before the potluck at Merrimac Conservation Club.
  •  April 5 (Friday): Pre-hunt Potluck,  meet mentor, opportunity to shoot again and get final instructions on hunt. 3 – 8 p.m.

**Please make sure you can attend all classes before registering.

**Note that if the class is full, it will no longer appear in Go Wild. In this case, please email Emily.Iehl@wisconsin.gov to be added to the waitlist or for any help with registering.
