Forest Bath at the Beautiful Silverbrook Trail
Description
Take in nature with all five senses, learn the history of forest bathing, release stress and be mindful with us on a slow-paced, mile-long hike.
Meet at the trailhead of our beautiful Silverbrook Trail Loop.
Plan:
• The Silverbrook Trail Loop head is not within the main part of Interstate Park. The parking lot for the trail head is off County Road S south of the main entrance to the park.
• This is an adults-only program.
• The hike will be on a mostly even, 1-mile trail, but at this time of year it could be muddy and slippery in spots.
• The forest bath will take about 1.5 hours.
• The program is a relaxing walk along the trail – we will not get into any body of water. “We will wash our mind, not our body.”
• Attendees should keep personal conversation to a minimum and focus on their senses.
Prepare:
Make sure to arrive on time. Unfortunately, there is no way to join the forest bath after the group has started on the trail due to the trail being a loop and there are no other ways in.
Pack:
• Dress appropriately for the weather.
• Bring a towel (to sit down on; we might also take our shoes off – the towel would be good to clean of the feet to put shoes back on).
• Bring a water bottle.
• Attendees should not bring pets/dogs.
