Description
Find your adventure at Havenwoods State Forest! All events are open to the public as well as scouts, their friends and families. All ages are welcome. Every event starts in the Havenwoods Nature Center and is free of charge. Explore nature, make new friends, celebrate Wisconsin State Parks and have fun!
Drop-in activities between 10 & 3 p.m.:
- Join A Forest Cleanup
- Take part in the Girl Scouts Service Project: Pick Up America. Meet at the Havenwoods Nature Center to receive all the materials you will need to safely help clean up litter. Take a selfie with a DNR Educator showing how many bags you collected! Make your pledge to pick up litter from public lands here: https://pickupamerica.com/girlscout
- Make And Take Seed Balls
- Pollinators are a very important part of the forest ecosystem and need our help. Come learn how native plants help people and the environment. Instructions and materials will be provided to make your own seed balls to help our bees, butterflies and other pollinators thrive
- Scavenger Hunt
- Pick up your scavenger hunt at the Nature Center, then head out to explore the forests and ponds of Havenwoods. Complete your Scavenger Hunt and pick a small prize at the Nature Center.
10 to 11 a.m. | Outdoor Skills
Stop by this program to learn how to build a campfire and tie some handy knots. Prepare for outdoor adventures with this fun, hands-on activity. Everyone is invited to drop in for a few minutes or the full program.
1 to 2 p.m. | Animal Feeding
Ever wondered what a snake feels like? Ever wanted to see a turtle eat? Here’s your chance! Come visit the animals as they eat their lunch.
