Medicinal Hike from 3:15 - 4:15 p.m.

With new plants in bloom and new fruits ripening, Lakeshore State Park has a rich collection of edible and medicinal plants. Learn which plants are edible, which are used medicinally and how they can be prepared for use. Also learn which plants to avoid. All ages and abilities are welcome. Meet at the north entrance, just in front of Discovery World.

Seed Collecting Hike from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Native wildflowers and grasses benefit our community in many ways. Come learn how native plants help people and the environment. Along the way, we will collect seeds and perform an act of service by tossing seeds into Lakeshore State Park’s Big Prairie, the part of the park most in need of repopulation with native Wisconsin plants. Take home instructions for your own “seed bombs” will be available at the end of the hike. Meet at the north entrance, just in front of Discovery World.
