Women’s Learn to Hunt Deer With Crossbow

Description

This three-day immersive event geared toward women will cover topics related to hunting deer with crossbows including:

- deer biology, habitat, and scouting

- crossbow use and maintenance

- rules and regulations

- field dressing and quartering deer

Crossbows and bolts will be provided as well as meals and use of a group campsite in the park. Each hunter will be paired with an experienced mentor and have two opportunities to hunt. Each participant must have a valid hunter education certificate.

A tentative agenda is below:

- Friday afternoon/evening: setup camp and cover classroom portion of topics

- Saturday morning: intro to crossbows and target shooting

- Saturday afternoon/evening: scouting and hunting with mentor

- Sunday morning: hunting with mentor

- Sunday afternoon: pack up camp

If the event doesn’t show up it is full, but you can contact Kayla Sasse to be put on the wait list. You will need to have a DNR customer ID number in order to enroll. An email with more detailed information will be sent to participants in September.
