Learn to Hunt Deer

Adults only event. 

Hosted by Wisconsin Backcountry Hunters & Anglers.

In this adult-focused class, you will first learn the biology and techniques for hunting deer with a firearm on public land. There will be virtual session on the evening of Sept. 28, followed by an instructional range day on Sept. 30 at the McMiller Sports Center (100 Walters Rd., Eagle, WI).

Finally, you will have a hunt weekend (Oct. 7 and 8) where participants will hunt on public land, paired with an experienced mentor. 

No prior hunting or firearm experienced required.

All hunting equipment will be provided.

Prerequisites:

Must complete Hunters Safety & possess a valid Wisconsin Gun Deer License

Students will be provided with Harvest Authorizations by the DNR

The cost of the class is $35, which will cover food & drinks during the weekend, and will also get you a year-long Backcountry Hunters and Anglers Membership. Payment to be collected at the range day on Sept. 30.
