The Trails Of Newport Challenge Hikes

As part of the OutWiGo statewide initiative to get outside with healthy activities, we’re taking to the trails, and not going to stop until we do them all.

Join the park naturalist on this weekly hike. We’ll log hours and miles for 13 weeks. When we are done, we’ll have hiked every trail in Newport State Park, enjoying all it has to offer. We started with the shortest trail loop and end with the longest trail loop (7 mi.).

On the last day, we’ll tally our miles and enjoy a pot luck picnic together. All are welcome to enjoy one or more of the hikes, and are encouraged to hike at your own pace. This week’s hike will be Fern Trail, an easy 1.2 mile hike. Meet at Lot 3.
