Veteran's Day Hike

-

Description

U.S. Congress announced Veteran’s Day in 1926 with these words: “Whereas the 11th of November 1918 marked the cessation of the most destructive, sanguinary, and far-reaching war in human annals and the resumption by the people of the United States of peaceful relations with other nations,…it is fitting that the recurring anniversary of this date should be commemorated with…exercises designed to perpetuate peace through good will and mutual understanding.”

Join us on one such exercise! Veterans on active duty and reserves, their families and friends, and community members wishing to honor them are invited. The hike will be an easy, wheelchair-accessible, vision-impaired accessible, 0.7-mile stroll around the park. Dress for the weather! Meet at the North Entrance, just next to Discovery World.
