Havenwoods State Forest: Girl Scouts Love State Parks 2022

Description

Find your adventure at Havenwoods State Forest! All events are open to the public as well as scouts, their friends and families. Every event starts in the Havenwoods Nature Center and is free of charge. Activities count towards the Love The Outdoors Challenge AND the Climate Challenge! Explore nature, earn badges, make new friends and have fun!

Go On A Scavenger Hunt! | 10 a.m. – noon | Nature Center

Stop by the Nature Center for an introduction to wayfaring and maps, then borrow a trusty compass and set out on a self-led scavenger hunt to the forest and ponds of Havenwoods. End your scavenger hunt with a yummy dessert at the s’mores station!

Make A S’More! 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | S'Mores Station

Have a tasty treat at the s’mores station. All are welcome!

Make And Take – Build Your Own Map | Drop-In Program Between 1 & 3 p.m. | Nature Center

What makes a map? Come create your own park map filled with animals, trees, plants, and ponds! Supplies and materials will be provided. Let your imagination design the best space for you!

EarthEcho Water Challenge | 2 – 3 p.m. | Nature Center

Be a citizen scientist and collect data on water quality at a Havenwoods pond. Learn how water quality is measured, collect a water sample, track your findings and enter your data to complete the challenge. Start at the Nature Center before heading down to the pond. This activity is best suited for grades 4-12 and is part of the Girl Scout Climate Challenge.
