Wetlands Wake up - June Self-Guided Interpretive Hiking Trail

-

Description

During daylight hours in June, follow the self-guided interpretive walking trail to learn more about insects that begin and spend most of their life in wetlands. Pick up a Wetland Insect Checklist and Trail Map in the parking lot kiosk. You will find 11 interpretive signs with insects that depend on wetlands and benefit other wildlife.  Use the clue on each sign to see if you can identify the insect.

Flip-up the sign cover to reveal a photo of the insect described. You can click on the QR code with your cell phone camera to learn more about each species.

Directions: From the visitor parking lot kiosk, follow the gravel road East to Turkeyfoot Trail, through the grassland habitat to the wetlands, scrape, and around Dragonfly Pond.

This Wetlands Wake Up Self-Guided interpretive trail theme can be viewed from June 6 through June 30, 2022, during daylight hours.
