Work Play Earth Day Park Clean-Up At Lake Wissota

-

Description

The Friends of Lake Wissota State Park will be hosting an Earth Day park clean-up with a free lunch provided for volunteers.

Some helpful activities include picking up garbage throughout the park, as well as raking and picking up branches and sticks. Some areas to focus on are the south side of the beach area, Riverview,  Group Camp 2 and park trails. The campground would also be a good place to pick up sticks in the campsites, and volunteers are also encouraged to pick up pieces of garbage between some of the campsites.

After meeting at the Nature Center, feel free to go out solo or in small groups to tackle different areas. Afterward, meet back at the Nature Center for a free lunch. Participants should plan to bring water, gloves, sturdy shoes, and wear weather-appropriate clothing.

Please contact the Friends of Lake Wissota State Park President Sue Crisp at 715-861-3253 by noon on April 21 if you are planning on coming so an accurate lunch count can be made.
