North Shore Mound Tour

-

Description

The ancestors of present-day Indigenous people occupied the Wisconsin landscape for thousands of years. Evidence of their sacred connection to the land from over 1,000 years ago is still evident with constructed mounds. Some of these earthen mounds can be found throughout Devil’s Lake State Park.

Join archaeologist, Seth Taft, on a tour of the park's Indigenous mounds located on the north shore, and learn about the pre-contact period of Wisconsin human history through an archaeological perspective.

Those interested in attending can meet at the Devil's Lake Nature Center.
